Just picked up an '80 SN, Ford powered. She is all original, super solid but looks 25 years old. I will post some pics soon. Since my first encounter with a Nautique in 1983, I have always wanted one. Anyways, I would like to get a copy of an owners/service manual from someone who has one. I am curious on replacing the "usa" and "correct craft since 1925" decals on the stern. Are they still available?I would also like to re-paint the graphics, is there a stencil kit available? (sounds like a nice income opportunity if not)
Gel coat chips and dings--how to fix?
I think thats enough for now, Thanks!

Here are the decals:

I don't know of any stencils available - but I'm sure there is a market

Anyone have a source on the other decal - the usa ski association decal?

Just trying to line up sources for my winter projects on my new '78 nautique.

Ok, I have been searching these forums and there is alot of talk of "reverse rotation" engines, I dont think mine is like that, and why would that be done anyways? Here is a real kicker. My boat will NOT rev past 2000 RPM. Here is a copy of the thread I posted on my 3 wheeler club forums (lots of good mechanics on there!)
yep, my new boat. starts super easy, idles perfect, no funny noises, etc. but it wont rev over 2K. in Nuetral or under load, same thing. the original Holley carb was pretty nasty looking Had another in the garage, just put it on and same thing. WTF??? sure looks like enough gas going in there, at 2 grand, you can see it flowing. Any ideas?? not enough fuel? too much? what could cause the sputtering, and breaking up and no accelleration at 2000 RPM? Timing not advancing? ARGH!
Its a 351 Ford with a Holley 4 barrel, vac. sec. mech fuel pump, just like a car. looks to have new plug wires and points/condenser/cap. got splitfires in it but who knows how long they been in there. What should I try next??

Coil might be breaking down or the tach might be grounding out. Bad ignition resistors usually cause the engine to quit when they heat up.

I would get rid of the split fires...gimmic in my book and may be the cause of a weak spark that is being drowned out.

Your engine most likely is reverse rotation. Look at the model number. If it starts with a PLD, its standard rotation and if it starts with a PRD, its reverse rotation. Most SNs prior to 1989 were reverse rotation. CC did this so that the rotation of the prop countered the weight of the driver. You can find the service manuals in the reference section of this forum. Also, there is a inexpensive book, called Runabout Renovation, that has some good information on fixing dings in the gelcoat. You can buy it from Amazon.

it is reverse rotation, and I figured that it was to offset the rotation of the prop and driver weight. Anyways, I changed the plugs, adjusted the points and still no dice. It appears as it has a mechanical advance distributor?? I took it down and found one of the springs on the centrifigal weights broken. IDK about mech. distributors. Im taking it to my mechanic tomorrow AM, and having the wife make them some brownies so they will get it fixed before tomorrows company picnic! I am pretty discouraged right now, almost put the thing on ebay! We will see tomorrow night what the fate of this boat is.

I would also be looking for the AWSA decal for my boat. I am looking to update/clean up and would like to do new decals etc.. The two decals from White Lake will be great. Although it's too bad that the CC decal is now generic -"Since 1925" instead of "1925-1979" any way. If anyone has access to the round AWSA decal let me know. Thanks Convo
