I see someone has a vibration problem today. I was wondering if a guy could measure vibration - other than noticing if the mirror shakes.

I am thinking of building this meter. Do you guys think it would be useful? Could loan it out to members so we could put a number to the complaint.

Chris,
It looks like an interesting project but in our case, I'm not too sure it would provide useful information. Every boat has harmonics and it seems everyone I've been in has been different. Even same model/engine to same. Then there's the water condition variable! Finding the base line of what's good and what's bad would be the challenge.

It doesn't look very expensive to build so put one together and give it a try.

A wine glass might do double duty here.
