My 72 Southwind has Morse Controls with the chrome tranny engage button on the side. It started sticking this year. With the boat in gear the throttle leaver sticks a bit ( you have to rock the lever back and forth in order to get it into gear, but with the boat in neutral (button pulled out) the throttle lever is really smooth. Could it be in the control itself or might it be in the transmission linkage? Has anyone had this issue? Thanks for the help!

Happy Boating!

Me too! I suspect in my case, the cable is getting old and causes resistance...How old is your cable? I recently posted a thread "Stiff throttle" There are many responses...read that one and you might get some ideas.
