hey has anyone removed the rudder from there cc
and if so what is in there for a bushing or bearing . please help thanks

There is no bushing. The rudder shaft turns in the housing. If you are wanting to tighten up excessive play, the only thing you can tighten is the packing gland, and it really won't help much.

FWIW, my '78 has quite a bit of play (the bottom tip of the rudder will move back-and-forth about 3/8"), but it has NO negative effect on my steering. I used to have some problems with play in the steering, but most of it was at the clevis on the rudder arm. I took it off and bent it to remove the clearance and now my steering is perfect.
