Couple days ago I pulled the impeller loose to check it out. I had already ordered a new one, but the old one looked fine, so I put it back together. Problem solved.

Wrong.

For some strange reason, I looked in my manual and realized my pump could have two impellers. Only saw one when my pump was apart, though. Today I pulled the pump apart again and discovered there are indeed two impellers! One was shredded toast, the other looked new. This is a Sherwood pump. So I needed the new impeller anyway, which I promptly installed.

I have a 30' Trojan cabin cruiser also and it has twin 318 Chryslers in it, same deal, I think it's a D55 with two water in's and out's and two impellers ea. I just did mine this year and 3 of the 4 where still all there but one was missing about half of the ribs. It's about a $130 deal for me.

The pump ribs are somewhere in the cooling system
