Brand new 2011 Super Air 230 team edition at full throttle steering wheel / column rattles you can hear it too. Not a bent prop, I know what that feels like. Is this normal? I want to take it back in, I'm concerned...
Thx

Saying it's normal they are a good dealer but new to selling nautiques (since last august) I honestly can't see how this is normal but its my first nautique, actually my first non I/O boat. I want to make sure it's not just my inexperience with this type of boat.

I would push the issue with the dealer. That thing should run as smooth as a Mercedes.

Carlos, I would arrange for someone from the dealer to ride with you and drive the boat. The boat salesman perhaps (if you bought it where I think you did the salesman knows Correct Crafts).
Should be pretty easy for him to decide if there is a problem.
By the way...what color is your boat? Blue and white?
Welcome to the site.

It's blue and black.
Thanks I'll have them ride with me I thought it was unusual I just wanted to make sure. They said they did have someone check it out which made me feel like a noob, I'm going to bring it up again tomorrow. Other than that issue I'm in love with the boat and starting to get into the sport, I just want to make sure I'm well informed and on point.
Dealer has been great so far I'm hoping they can fix it quickly, this has been my only real issue so far.

Teli, I don't have any friends with Nautiques just Supras and Mastercrafts if I did that would have been ideal.

Carlos,
The post you quoted is from a spammer. Notice the links he provided.
BTW, it's been reported to Keith for removal. The spam seems to be getting worse. They must have gotten some new software over there in China!!

Carlos, think I saw you on the water last Sunday. Pulled up along side you in a blue/white Sport Nautique to say hello. You were busy dealing with your anchor.
That sure is a pretty boat. Good luck getting your steering issue resolved.

Lol, right on! That was my wife and friend Rob with my crazy kids, I was with my other friend right across the way in his red Ski Centurion trying to figure out how to do the air chair, that was a mega fail
I lost that anchor, I guess it got stuck in a tree stump, I spent 20 minutes on it and gave up, second donation this year to the lake.

Just curious, is this vibration felt throughout the whole boat, or only through the wheel and column? Would you feel it if you were sitting towards the back of the boat and someone else driving?
Does anyone know if the newer boats still use cables for steering? Would a cable transmit a vibration all the way to the helm?
Just curious if this is something that is happening around the prop & rudder and getting transmitted forward or if it is an engine vibration being carried forward and maybe the steering column/help is not fastened as securely as it should be.

It's only felt through the wheel and column I guess clanking might be a better term, something feels loose or broke. It's only felt at close to WOT you'd miss it unless you gunned it for a bit

I wonder if something is just not all the way bolted/fastened down as far as where the helm connects to the dash.

Thats exactly what I'm thinking I left it at the sales dock, they are going to take it out and try to figure it out, it's at a point that I'm nervous I could loose the ability to steer. With friends and family aboard I just don't want to risk it.

Imho you should test the boat with them, so they get to feel what you feel...
