Your auto supply will have fogging oil.

Where does it go? Is this just to treat the oil?

Don,
If you have a carb'd engine, you spray it down the carb throat while giving the engine some gas. You'll see some smoke out the exhaust and at that time pull the throttle back to idle. The engine will typically die at this time. If not, turn off the ignition switch.
The fogging coats the combustion side of the engine protecting it from corrosion.
Do an oil/filter change as well. Remember, no Fram filters! And, an oil with plenty of ZDDP. Valvolene VR1 20-50 is a popular choice.

I have been using a 50/50 mix of Seafoam and Mystery Oil to fog. Seafoam cleans and the Mystery oil does the lube. Has been good to me so far.

Egon,
You've been spending too much time over at Watercraft!! The Marvel is fantastic but I'd keep the Seafoam in the gas and only if you have a problem! I still have an pump oilier squirt can filled with 50% Marvel and 50% engine oil. It was what Bill Thetie (the original owner of Watercraft) taught me to use back in the late 60's. He was still working there after the John senior bought it.
The mix worked for him for well over 40 years!
The Seafoam is a "tail oil" and then just mostly solvents. It works great on cleaning out the junk in the fuel system but I question it's ability for winterizing protection.

Pete.
Maybe a silly question, but why no Fram filters?

Tom,
There are several real good threads about the Fram filters with links to studies done opening up different brands to see whats inside. The bottom line is Fram filters are junk!

If you ran your engine to get the stabilizer worked through the fuel system and fogged through the carb until you saw the exhaust smoking significantly more, there is no need to pull the plugs and squirt anything in there.

Snipe, if your comment is to Craigin, he has EFI, no carb, so you need to fog via cylinder.
Craigin, The method you described will work however in my experience it's much easier to just remove all eight, spray - rotate - replace. Or if you do one at a time, you can just rotate at the end. BTW, the rotate ideally should be by hand.

Had the wife do the winterizing this year since I was unable to. I had forgotten to tell her about fogging and plan to in the next couple weeks. Does it hurt for me to do just the cylinders a few weeks after the rest of the winterizing took place?

Andy - That lady was a good catch! You should teach her to do alignments too.
Oiling the cylinders can be done later, some guys don't oil at all. Just turning it over 1 per month will keep it from rusting, but it is nice to have the pc of mind.

Yes, a great catch. I wish it would have sunk in earlier. She helped me with my first car, working in her Dad's shop, when I was 15. We've been friends ever since. She had a crush on me then and I wasn't all that interested until several years later. Luckily I wised up before someone else got her...LOL! She doesn't mind getting her hands dirty.
I've been busy and not on here a lot, or lurking. The boat did great this year...ran well and we had lots of enjoyment. We had one incident on an outing where the connecting pin broke on the throttle shifter end of the throttle...that was interesting limping back to the dock and getting it back on the trailer.
