Hi guys, I am just enquiring here if anyone has thoughts on appropriate glue to adhere the carpet trim to the fiberglass floor substrate? The contact adhesive I am using for the carpet does not seem have enough `grip` for the trim. I hope someone has some experience with this. Once again thanks for the help guys.

Hey Aussie,
"henry's 263" has been the recomendation here in the past. I am not sure where to get it, but the lesser grades are not waterproof, so you'll want to shop around til you find it :)

Steve,
What are you using.?
I've never had any dramas with contact adheasive as long as it's applied correctly.

Chopper,
I have gotten myself a tube of Sika automotive adhesive sealant (the black super sticky stuff) just would be a little messy i think. I have not stick the trim down yet. I have the carpet all in there and it layed flat just not stuck down. The Henry`s glue that has been mentioned here is not available in Oz (as usual. So your contact adhesive your using do you have a brand name? I am using a drum that an upholsterer friend gave me. It worked great on the carpet.

We use Weldwood HHR contact cement to glue down the rubber carpet trim and have not had a problem in 30+ years.
