OK Reunion goers.. Many of you have asked if there is a reunion, or some have asked why there isn't an official reunion, so here's the official plan for a Mini Reunion in Green Lake for this 2012 summer.

We will meet in Green Lake the same weekend as always July 13-15th.

Friday Night: Meet where ever, in water, in park, at the camp ground in the Goose Blind.. No boat show. We all know where to find eachother..

Saturday: Afternoon raft up in the Bay as always to enjoy the boats, libations and get the party started. Come nightfall, we plan a BYOM (bring your own meat)cook out in Deacon Mills Park. Grill provided. There you can put up a volleyball net, for Quinner (play corn-hole), whatever, just like back in 2006... We will reserve the park, so it will accommodate as many as decides to come out.. Coolers with beer and wine are allowed in the park, so BYOB.. No kegs, unless you want to bring one HW (wink wink)...

Sunday, do whatever floats your boat. Many of the local guys stay most of the day if not the night.. GL is always great on a Monday morning...

OK, so there you have the official-unofficial mini reunion, semi to no plan set up for GL 2012... No registration, no t-shirt, no dinners, no boat show (that is unless the Hurricane shows up, then it will be in the park, by itself... !!!! Show for 1.

Sorry it's not an elaborate, full blown, event. Maybe next year.. We hope to see the core group who made GL the largest CC reunion in the country and certainly anyone else that would like to come out and spend time on beautiful Green Lake with us for a weekend and never had the chance previously...

Thanks,
Moj'

Dave, sounds perfect, but you were supposed to take the year off. I hope I can make it. If there is anything I can help with let me know. Thanks.

I'll try to be there, but may have to "steal" the camp's SkiTique again. Found a boat I'm interested in, but it needs a fair amount of work. Maybe it's time to start praying for my wife so she'll let me make the purchase.

Hey Fans,
Just wanted to share with you a major change at Deacon Mills park in GL. The "Warf" project had taken on life in the fall with dredging the entire Dartford bay to accommodate a complete warf like docking system for us boaters. Now the entire park is surrounded by secure boat parking all the way around it. This summer they will finish by adding a hand laid brick sidewalk behind it. Quite the project for little sleepy Green Lake. Those of you coming this summer will be some of the first to use and enjoy the new warf.

What does the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation have to do with docks? Do you know where they are dumping the dredged silt? I'll bring a metal detector and a big magnet, got some keys to find.

That looks like an awesome enhancement to that bay. Now it's deep enough to do fliers off the new docks!

No idea, but its a lot of silt to go through. Worse than the whole needle in the haystack thing..

The whole thing started with the Norton family I believe. All privately funded through donation..

Looks nice and functional...

Ok, I know this thread has been neglected, so lets get it back on track.

GL 2012 is alive and well.. new public "warf" as they are calling it at Deacon Mills Park looks really nice. New grass should be in before that, so we should be good to go.

While there are no solid plans where registration is required, we have confirmation for the park on Sat night where we'd like to grill out. We've rented the 60" charcoal, arm hair burner again, so there will be plenty of space to bring your own meet to cook (or we can cook and serve all kinds of different things and serve it together..

While there hasn't been an official list of attendees, I can be safe in saying we will have quite a few boats there, which means GL lives on !!!

Grapevine has it that many will also be flying in, or not bringing boats.. No matter, the "Vag-tique" will be available for partial taxi service to the bay...

I know GL has a left a lasting impression with many of you loyal CCFaners. Hope to hear soon that you are still planning on making it and having a fun, relaxing time..

Any questions drop me a line..

Moj'

PS: The ice went out 2 months early this year.. Water's going to be like a sauna !!! hahaha Even Pete will darn the shorts once again !!!

I wish I could, Gary. I would really love to see the boats and meet everyone there. I am certain I know less about CCs than almost anyone here. I could really learn a lot. Just because I have a Mustang doesn't mean I like the other models less. I like the new stuff too, but it's not in the budget. Nothing beats a day of boating, new friends, and watching great skiers/boarders and drivers. Now that I dug into my project a little farther I am sure mine won't be ready by then, but I know the Mustang badge will be well represented in blue. I am trying to do my best on this project and I know I am a pest on the site with all of my questions, but I value all of the advice.
BTW, I am in the garage right now taking a break from foam removal.

The BKH family loves this trip, but, unfortunately, it's just not in the schedule this year.

Just learned we qualified for sales club at work. All expenses paid trip to Monte Carlo, or I pay all the expenses trip to Greenlake.   Well . . . it is what it is.

Have a great time. There's always next year.

I'm going to try to peel myself away from home to join in on the fun for at least one of the two days. I think it'll be great to put some faces to names from the forums. I've been a lurker for awhile, learning what to look for in a boat.

I actually remember seeing the group get togethers on the lake in years past. Now, I can actually join in. I finally popped on a new (to me) '79 Mustang earlier this week and had it out for the first time on the fourth. Ran great and I couldn't be happier.

Congrats on the Mustang. What color is it so we can keep an eye out.

Mojo and I are regulars on the lake. His is the SV211 that is red with a gray stripe (there is one with a blue stripe...I still will pull up to that one occasionally). I sold my 2002 all black SAN but can be spotted in the 62 Classic or a beater pontoon with a springboard on the front of it. We always welcome another CC to raft up with us. We are typ. in Norwegian Bay like everyone else.

Make sure to hunt us down and say hi.

Was out on the lake all last week and the water was only cold on the south side when you first drop in. Only used a shorty wetsuit. Considering GL and the time of year, it's not cold at all. Finally got to ski to a bit behind the SkiTique; although I'm not very good [can't slalom - any time I try to drop a ski I drop the other real soon afterwards... :)], I had a blast, but was way too sore for the next few days. The white and blue SkiTique belongs to a camp so it's out there often with other drivers on weekdays. Sometimes I'm out there on a red 3 seater pwc with a dark gray hood ['97 Kawasaki STX]. Have a company picnic Sat but will try to make it over to Norwegian Bay late Sat aft.

BTW, will there be unofficial speed trials this year? Maybe if the fast boats don't show up the 53 mph SkiTique will move up in the rankings.... :)

The Mustang will be pretty easy to spot. It's probably the only Mustang that doesn't say "Mustang 17" on the side, only the "17". The story goes that the original owner was a Oldsmobile dealer and paid to have "Mustang" removed because he didn't want to be associated with anything having to do with Ford. Anyway, this is what the boat looks like (I hope the link works)...

If I can get Camp Grow's SkiTique over he'll have about 53 mph to beat. That's what it was GPS'd at in Norwegian Bay in really rough water (for top speed runs) 2 yrs ago at the reunion. Didn't bother GPSing last year 'cause I knew it wasn't enough to place. Be glad it's not my boat - I'd consider a taller pitch prop just for the run. :) I think there's more left in her - it get's there really quick, but I'm not certain if a pitch change would do it. It's turning 5300 rpm at speed right now - it stays real close to 100 rpm per mph all the way up. Anyone have some advice? I wouldn't have time to take it - just really am interested in learning what might help it.

Anyone needing a wetsuit out on Big Green now, needs a serious blood transfusion.. Everywhere but the very center, the water is reaching 80+ degrees. The lastest hot spell has also brought some really flat water.. Lets hope the trend continues..

Again, baring any rain, we will have a cook out in the main park, where we'll do another corn broil. The rest is up to what you bring to cook and or share.. We'll have the 6 foot charcoal grill flat top and a gas grill.. There are a couple of small charcoal grills there on site to use as well. If anyone has a small portable grill, that would be great if you could bring it that night...

Beer and wine are allowed in the park as well, so BYOB-it...

Anyone with a volleyball net, that wouldn't mind bringing it, the park is a great place for a friendly game with fellow CCfaners.

Looking forward to see everyone there. I know you'll all enjoy the new boardwalk, new Action Marina, and of course "Da Goose" !!!!

Already up here, Alan. I'm up for a beer, but more up for a night surf and a beer!

Water is warm and flat. Air temps look to be low 90s and partly cloudy all weekend. Most importantly...low winds!

PS - I have that PS Audio DAC for you. Don't let me forget to give it to you.

Yeah, no joke.... Mosquitoes carry the girls and I off last year, Sydney bails out of her hammock due to heavy rain. Water rough every where, two years prior we freeze our Arse off IN JULY and and the year we don't go it's pristine conditions... GO FIGURE!

Enjoy gang and post plenty of pics...

I'm off to do lunch with the Jbear as he's on his way to TN.

Well, I didn't make it over to Norwegian Bay when they were doing the speed runs, so I don't know if this will officially-unofficially count, but this is the max speed my GPS read as I was leaving with the '75 SkiTique. Earlier it maxed at 50 mph. It's slower than 2 yrs ago, must be due to the warmer water and the blue green algae issues this year.... Actually, it's likely due to having a passenger two years ago and empty this year. I heard that during the runs the Barracuda placed first at 45 mph.

Wow, That parking lot sure looks empty compared to previous years.

I miss everyone. I need to spend more time with my ACBS duties and GL always took away from it. Certainly not that I minded but the GL going non official this year will allow me to spend more of my vacation time with the chapter.

Gary,
You are now on permanent vacation!!!

For those who didn't get the chance to come out, you missed a great time... The air was hot, the water was warm, and the beer was cold.. Other than the typical GL winds that wreck the lake during the day, most found some water to play on at some point. Temps were up around 90, so the breeze was definately needed !!

Thursday was my 50th B-day and on Fri night, while thinking we were going to the Goose, came back to the house to the suprise of my life. Everyone present that came to the lake graced me with one hell of a party. One that I truely will never, ever forget !!! I felt damn blessed to have so many people I can truley call my friends take time to celebrate my half century... !!!!

Sat night treated us to a bug free, beautiful night at the park where everyone cooked their meals and ate some nice mid season corn off the grill. It was so enjoyable, we sat out until almost 11pm before raging on the Goose for the 6th year in a row.. For those who were kicked out of the bar late after close, and actually saw the "Northern Lights", you got a pretty good show !!!

Sunday came, and for many loyal CCfan'rs we did what we normally do, hit a cove, hang out, talk smack, drank some more and were bummed as the last left to head home...

Green Lake is alive and well, and will hopefully be a part of the future reunion plans to come.. Thanks to all that came out to spend time with us..
