I've got a little puzzle with my '86 Ski Nautique. When the boat lists to port (usually due to a wakeboarder), a medium-pitched hum can be heard. I can't tell where it's coming from but it seems odd that it only happens when the boat is listing to port.

Level = no hum
List to starboard = no hum
List to port (even a little) = hum

The hum is clear and constant and I'd say the pitch is somewhere in the octave below middle C. Any ideas?

Maybe a problem with your port motor mount or transmission mount. I expect if the rubber were disintegrating the hum would be "somewhere in the octave below middle C". Also, have you checked engine alignment and strut bearing lately?
