Hi All,
I am trying to change my primary fuel filter on a 2009 Ski Nautique 196. The filter is, of course, under the floorboard behind the engine. I removed the engine clamshell, removed the rear seat bottom cushion, but there is still a platform for the seat cushion I can't figure out how to remove. Any suggestions? Thanks. Roger |

Also, do you know, for sure, if your boat even has a filter in that location? I have one in the location you mention on my boat, but I don't think my setup is designed to be under any pressure the way it would be on a modern boat.
I didn't realize those were run in tandem with the FCC style filters, but I could be wrong. With your clamshell removed, you should be able to look underneath the floor with a flash light and see it if it's there. |

With Brian on this one, believe you only have the filter in the FCC canister which is under the doghouse.

The only reason I even looked is because it's mentioned in the owner's manual. But yeah, if you remove the stuffing-box access plate and shine a flashlight in, there it is. I just changed the filter in the FCC, but can't get at this one.

Well now I am interested, there was not a filter back there on our 206 with an Excalibur??

I got it! By pushing some upholstery aside, I found a small bracket on each side of the platform screwed into the flooring. Once I removed those, I was able to lift the center floorboard and pull it out. And yes, there is an in-line canister-type filter. The PCM manual says to change it annually. Hah! Maybe if they put it in a better place.
I know Candlewood well, pretty lake but lots of traffic. Thanks. Roger |
