well, I think they are getting back at you for a lifetime of missed cleanings. I go ever 6 months and its 80-100 bucks. You are still at a lifetime savings over me I guess.

I'm with Justin on this, every 6 months. You are lucky you have gone this long, must have good genes. 336 a tooth does sound high though Maybe Dr Stevens will see this and comment.Check out another dentist too,if they don't want to tell you over the phone, you don't want to go there.I'm sure with more out of the pocket expense these days, they must be getting calls like that. But I'll say this, you start losing them and a grand will seem cheap.See you in a couple of weeks-

I think a good set of dentures are around 3k. Just pull them yourself and have dentures made. No more brushing!! Just drop them in the glass.

If you're on the internet, I would think you've been to a dentist before. Are you a native Floridian?

Halston, we'll pull them all for free next weekend. Seriously though, I feel for you. I didn't go to the dentist for 4 years while I was in college, came home to visit my parents for the holidays and my mom made me a surprise dental appt. I must have given a pint of blood through my gums. Sorry to say, you have nothing good to look forward to. But in the long run, it's cheaper to fix 'em now than to try and fix 'em later when they look like "summer teeth". Some are there, some aren't.

I didn't know Sweet was British.

bhectus,
Same thing happened to me. Came home from college; spent 90 minutes in the chair for a cleaning. Blood everywhere. After the first 45 minutes, the hygenist (sp) asked if I wanted to make another appointment for the rest of the cleaning. I said keep going, unless the blood stops or I pass out.
I recently had my first crown. $900 and two trips to the dentist.

I have a barter system with my dentist. I sleep with his wife once in a while when he thinks i am working on his house . he does my dental work. for some reason for the last 2 yrs every time i see him.he pulles teeth he says he cant fix. I figure I can only sleep with her 4 more times.

There was a movie like that. The dentist caught on and fixed this guys teeth so they all fell out.

Sweet, go for it. It'll be well worth the investment.

Does the $1000 include a cavity search and then drilling??

Or in Peters case, he is doing the drilling!

I don't even want to remember my root canal! I had to go to a "specialist" since most dentists don't do them anymore. The first attempt was traditional through the face of the tooth. That didn't work so 2 weeks later, I went back in and he went directly after the root through my gums! At least he didn't charge me for the second time.
