I did a search for "Fuel tank burp' no hits, so i'll post this question:
I have to fill up my tank VERY slowly on my 1997 Sport. If i don't the tank will burp gas out. Any ideas? It seems like it isn't venting properly.
Thanks for any feedback

I have the same issue on my 98 Sport. Checked the vent and vent hose for obstruction they were clear. I think it is the way the filler pipe gets to the tank. I was thinking about running a extra vent pipe but I now just fill from jerry cans with no problems. I just does not like the extra flow from the pumps.

On my 93 Sport it seems to work better if I turn the gas pump handle up to the 12 o'clock position. It flows better for me that way. Might give it a try.

mine does the same thing, have to fill it slowly when using pump gas...As MArk I sometimes fill it using 5 gallon jugs and a hose and it doesn't burp.. guess the pump at max is to much flow for the vent...

The problem is in the way the filler neck is routed to the tank. The filler tube makes an "S" bend that are almost 90* turns so when you fuel too fast it back's up in the filler tube.

That's a problem with most boats, not just CC's.
