I could do with the ability to temporarily remove the ski pylon on my 1989 2001 Nautique . Reason for this is that I have a Joystick Pylon fixed to it (tower height sleeved pylon extension ) which seems to be on very tightly, as such I cannot remove the joystick Pylon In order to get the boat in my garage. There are 4 Bolts at the Bottom of the Ski Pylon is it a case of loosening these and the Pylon lifts out, and slides back in again. Could it be that simple ?? Thanks Boyd

There is a female socket glassed into the hull. The bottom of the pylon slides in and has 1 bolt front to back holding it down.

The are U-bolts (2, horizontal). All you need to do is loosen those. Look all the way down at the bottom of the hull for the front to back bolt. It goes through the pylon and pins it into a cup that is molded into the bilge. You need to completely remove this bolt.

James it looks as though your high pole has worked its way right down over the bend in the original ski pole. I think this is why it is hard to remove from original pylon. There is also a combination of tape and protection mesh that needs to be investigated.
Does the high pole have a through bolt with ski hook on the back that sits on top of the original pole limiting how far it can slide over original pylon? If not I would fit one, makes removing the high pole much easier than having to pull the pylon every time
------------- If you're going through hell, keep going
