Just came accross this http://www.yachtsurvey.com/exhaust_risers.htm" rel="nofollow - http://www.yachtsurvey.com/exhaust_risers.htm Got me both worried and wondering what I should Look for and whether I should Pull them and inspect them what should a careful owner of a 1989 SN 2001 be doing Manifold and riser appears to be all one with another cast section on Top External inspection reveal mine to be quite rusty / corroded in the inside face and on top whereit joins the exhaust ports also one of my drain plugs does not have full range of thread on the inside I was wondering whether I should remove them and inspect / clean / check gasket faces and get the bit with the thread missing welded and retapped ?? Advice please ? thanks boyd

Any pictures? This is definitely considered routine maintenance on boats used in Salt Water. It seems like people tend to wait for signs of a problem on the fresh water side, but I don't know that this is necessarily right.
