i want to know if anyone has any comments on this.

our reverse rotation motors entail specific ( read expensive ) parts from standard rotaion motors. the distibutor gears and internals are reversed and i know the crank seals have 'flutes' in the rubber for reverse rotation. the cam lobes would also would be different.water pump can be bi-directional. ect.....

my torino was botched by one of the previous owners and the holman moody 302 was replaced with a standard rotaion 351. i can come up with the correct date code block and most hm tidbits, but i was worried about the harmonic balancer. ( skidim wanted 450 large for a reverse rotation harmonic balancer. ouch )a guy at white lake said that they are identical except for the timing marks. mine is marked for both directions, so i assumed this to be true.

what about the oil pump? i have also have read that the grinding, polishing and knurling of the crank needs to be performed in the direction of rotation.

any other items?

thanks bill, i will call him after the holidays. the rotation realy does not affect the attitude of the boat at speed with the fixed trim tabs. 16' deep v. i just want to make the boat 'correct'

Be sure if you change over that you change the direction of the pump in the transmission, if 71 or 72 C.
The distrubutor gears, cam, are different ,however the distrubutor still turns the same rotation. The oil pump is ok, the water pump, just flip it over 180 degrees.
The rotation of the prop should not have a bearing on the attitude of the boat. However prop diameter size will twist the boat to the left side chine instead of the right, or vise versa. The more blade, with power, the more hull twist, just like holding a fan in your hand. Trim tabs will certainley adjust the hull twist.

351 Windsor Ford Motor, switching over rotation
In my haste,(prior post) forgot to mention that the (1984 or prior cranks) were knurled for (oil seal) rotation direction. The crank seals front and rear have to be changed, for the correct direction. If they are one piece seals you are ok to just change the seals, if not unless you want a leaker, no way. Also the starter has to be changed for opposite direction.
