Hello everyone! I have a shopping list of parts needed to get my Southwind 20 bowrider back to good. Listed are the needs in level of importance. -2 windshield supports -pylon -gearshift knob -portside horn -aluminum rubrail sections (I would love to switch to stainless) -original manuals -original swimplatform -original trailer I would appreciate any leads on the above list. Dave, Welcome to CCfan. We'd love to see some pictures of your project. Take a look in the reference section for the manual - there should be an engine manual but nothing on the boat since there really was never one. If questions come up. ask here and I'm sure we can help out. You will not find an original swim platform since CC wasn't putting them on their hulls till about 1978. Trailer will be a tough one. The trailer will be tough for sure. Youre looking for a #4DV Correct Craft trailer. Anything smaller wont fit the v-hull properly. Pete, is the platform on your Tique original? Just like there were few changes between the '77 and '78 Tique, there is little difference between a '75 and '78 Southwind. I dont think it is entirely inappropriate to put a platform on that boat, unlike the older/smaller boats that were never offered with them. Whether someone has the Southwind pattern or not is another question. The pylon is going to be pretty tricky, at least getting one that is perfectly period correct. The pylons offered '73-75 differed from the ones that were offered before or afterwards... and I would guess that a Southwind pylon is going to be model specific due to the depth of the v-hull. So there arent many boats from which to source a replacement. ------------- |

Tim, You know the answer to your question on the platform!  That's why I always say my Tique was a late 77 model.  It's great to know the Southwind hulls weren't changed from 75 to 78. I figured if I put a platform on my old Mustang, I could do the same with the Southwind. The tricky part would be fitting the profile of the transom. I saw one on an older Southwind...must be the 78 and newer. Thanks for the tip on the trailer. Dave |
