For the past few years I have been seeing a slow rise in oil pressure readings. Last year it read 80 most of the summer. This spring it is pegged to the right. oil is clear, and just below full on the dipstick. My searches state a bad ground would give a low reading. What gives a high reading?

WRONG! As resistance goes DOWN, your gauge goes UP. This is why the suggested test for the gauge is to remove the sender wire off the sender and ground it. This removes the resistance of the sender and the gauge should peg at max if it's good.

Dave, Get a mechanical pressure gauge T'd in at the sender to check out what you are actually getting.
