Reading on here leads me to believe that I have the 3H round fender CC trailer from around '73. I am ready to order some new GY marathon tires online to replace the 185/75/14 car tires from the PO. Reading here again seems I need size 205/75/r14. Can someone confirm that this is right before I order online. 205 looks like a tight fit.

Thanks
Rich

Tim B will know I'll bet but keep in mind the load rating on the tire. It's possible that the 205 could be less

I agree with Gary... Double check the load rating. I'd be surprised if the largest 14 inch trailer tire didn't fit under those fenders. The first number in the tire size (185 vs 205) is the width. All of my round fender #3's have very wide fenders, so I'm not sure why you're concerned. The 215's should fit fine.

Yes, you're right. I measured again and it looks like a total of 31.5" in diameter under the fenders with no width issues with the 14" wheel. My 2200 lbs boat, 300 lbs of gas and gear and 500 lbs trailer will need a tire load rated at 1500lbs. I found some Greenball Tow Masters locally for $82 installed and balanced. The larger of the two they make is the 205/75/r14 with a load rating of 1760 lbs and outside diameter of 26.1". I think these should be fine

Thanks

What you'll need is an ST205/75-14. The ST is for "special trailer. If you have one close, Tractor Supply has them is stock on white spoke wheels for around $120, ready to put on.

Good point Pete.

I don't see any cracks buy they could be worn out.

What was the original tire size for the #3?

Might have been 13's in the 60's but I've seen 14's stock as early as '72. By the mid-late 70's even the #2's got 14's.
