| When driving my brother-in-laws 79 nautique today the transmission just dropped out and the engine went into free rev . There is no forward or reverse. The cable still is fine. Does anyone know where to buy either a new or a rebuilt unit to just swap out. This boat is a one owner and this is the 1st major issue we have had. Boating season in WI is pretty short and would like to get it back in the water ASAP. |

Pull it out first, it may not be the trans could be the dampner. | Gary S Thanks for the info it turned out to be the dampner and is back in the water running as great as always. Everyone seemed quite surprised the original lasted 33 . Again much appreciated. |
