I sold my 92 SN yesterday. Good news for me. However, the person that bought it met a truck while taking it home. A rock shattered the windshield. Does anyone know the best way to get the glass replaced? Thanks for your replies in advance.

Its just a flat piece of tempered glass. A glass shop should be able to cut one for him, if he supplies the dimensions.

We have had a couple members investigate Marine Glass. They are WAY up there in $$$$$! All that's needed as Tim mentioned is have a glass outfit cut a flat piece and then temper it.

I called a local glass company. Not a big deal to get it. Just a flat tempered glass. Thanks for the ideas. I just hated that he had just left my house when it happened.

Pete, one of my friends had his windshield smashed on his 80' ski tique that was mint by one of the forklift drivers at his marina and they sent the busted frames and parts to marine glass specialties and it came back like a new one. Not sure what it cost the marina to have replaced but my buddy was super happy when it was fixed. I have seen the work up close and it is perfect.

Mike,
I'm not questioning Marine Glass's quality but just mentioned they are pricey. I know we have several members who have actually gone to the glass shop, had a piece of tempered glass cut and installed it in the frame themselves.

I had to buy a new W/S last year & MG Specialties was the only place I could find to make one - $1100.     I needed the frame made too, not just the glass. They cut the flat pattern, had it tempered, then 'bowed' the curve into it while stuffing it into the frame. Not sure I could do that myself.

It came out OK except their packaging was ridiculously bad & the frame was gouged during shipping. Never got resolution on that.

LOL I saw a used W/S for my boat on a thread here 2 weeks ago. Timing is everything!
