Gary,
What's going on with the water levels on the chain and the river with the lack of rain fall we have this year? I'd guess at least Blarney's is at least dry for a change??

Dave,
Have you been out to Blarney's lately?

Pete.....I haven't had time to wipe my, uh, brow, this summer. We have our big Chain O' Lakes outing in early September this year. You are welcome to come if you want. They gots some wild womens up there at Blarneys.

I have cruised by the river down by where I live. I saw a few wakeboarders out this AM. So, they are still out doing their thing. Everytime I go on the river with the SW, I end up dinging my prop. I am not taking any chances with the new 542. Thinking of heading to Delavan tomorrow. Got my new Fulton trailer jack put on today, so the rig is ready to roll.

Well I just got back from a ride in Dads boat and yes it's busy.Usual jet ski's out. Saw what looked to be a brand new SN towing a tube and no little kids involved! At least they were out. Water is really low,I don't think I could get on or off my lift,Im sure the gates in McHenry are closed to try to keep the chain passable

Dave,
What is the outing? Who?

I hear you about the prop. You need to just stop pulling that tube around!!
It's great that you got the new jack stand on the trailer. Any problems?

Gary,
I thought your dad's boat was is Florida. Did I miss something?

Go out and get that lift into deeper water. They are going to hold every drop of water they can in the chain so it may be a long time before you see the river rise???

Brand new SN towing a tube?? They do have a skewed sense of purpose don't they!! I wish I had the funds to go out and spend the $$$$ and then pull tubes. Of course, you know I don't unless I'm practicing for the nationals!

Pete....I shouldn't really call it a big outing, but, when you don't get out much, anything can seem like a big outing. We get a few neighbors together, all sorts of food and drink, and our industrial strength squirt guns, and head out for a day of fun and sun on my wife's sister's Larson party barge which holds about 10-12 people.

We start on Pistakaee Lake, and cruise up through all the lakes in the chain going through the small channels to get to each lake. Going through the channels is when you get the squirt guns out to spray the oncoming boats (and of course they shoot back). We then head back down through Grass Lake (Home of Blarney's Island and lots of interesting people).

Pull into Blarney's around 2:00 and drink beer and listen to the band. Then we usually head out and go have dinner at a Mexican restaurant on the lake as we are heading back to Pistakee. We normally do this once or twice a summer depending on everyone's schedule. Will let you and Gary know when we get closer to see if you guys are interested.

No issues getting the Fulton jack on. Mounted right up in about 10 minutes. I got the 1200 Lb. tongue weight model for ~$65 at Berquist Marine in Crystal Lake.

SOME people have more than one boat He used to have a center console version of this boat in Florida that he bought brand new,but he got rid of it a couple of years because it was too much work for him anymore to keep it looking like new. This is the one he has here at home, same hull but called a walkaround, same power and everything else too. I'm trying to talk him into taking this one back down and bringing back his 16 foot Herter boat. This one is a Florida built boat and are more sought after down there.

Gary....The river doesn't look that bad as far as water level. How far down is it?

I was down in Indy last weekend, and Morse Reservoir is down 5.5'. It was horrible. An island had emerged in the middle of the lake, and the water line was a good 20'-30' or more out from where it normally was.

Dave, here is a picture tonight and a picture from the past.Since they put the flood gates in they keep it lower than the dam did anyway,I never had so much beach!
