What do you guys think of this? It is supposed to be priced around $40.
Should I put in on the Christmas list?

Out of 10 indicator lights: 1-7=good 8&9=fair 10=bad=change oil
Might be a lotta good in this product?
I'd rather it tell me what it found.

Sorry maybe a little harsh but this product and oil analysis don't belong in same catagory.Oil analylsis by definition is identifying contaminants by parts per million per sample. There are a lot of big diesels out there with perfectly good oil with 250k miles on it verified with consistant oil analysis. And it is as black as ink this tester would say bad(wrong).Notice I won't even use the word Analyzer any more with this thing.Put a bypass filter on your Christmas list and get something worthwhile for your money and motor.

pay $20 and just send your oil to blackstone every now and then. They'll tell ya everything you need to know about your engine condition and oil life.

Change the engine oil at 50 hr intervals and BEFORE the boat is put away for the winter. Use a good quality filter. Fram in the 70s were the s**t now they are s**t
I've offered to analyze oil for CCFans for a couple of years now. Several guys have sent me base line samples and I've run them. The sampling over the life of the component is where you see a slow steady increase of engine wear.
Black Stone seems like a good company but there trending and ours are not in line. We disagree on results sometimes. We fly airplanes they drive trucks so are standards are much tighter.
Anyway if any of you guys want a sample run or talk about oil Just e mail me.
