I have a 1999 Ski Nautique 19'7. It has always steered harder then my friends Nautique's. I changed the steering cable several years ago but that did not help. It is getting worse now. It has some slack in the steering rack. It almost locks-up when turning hard to the right. I have tried positioning the trim tabs on the rudder and it did not help. Any insight and help would be appreciated. Waterski 130

does it steer hard on all the power band or at cruise speed? Have you done any inspection ar the rudder port?

Yes, It does steer hard in all power bands. It does get worse at higher speeds. I am going to try greasing the rudder tomorrow. Thanks for the response.

Im going through the same thing. I pulled on the rudder while my wife tried to turn the wheel simulating prop wash. I have some play in the rudder. Im convinced it needs to be repacked. A new cable made some difference so Im excited to see what replacing the rudder does.
