My '98 Sport needs at least a partial interior, was curious for opinions on whether to do the whole thing or just part. The deck over the trunk, rear seat, and coaming (is that what it's called, along the gunwales?) need to be replaced. The observer seat is in decent shape but some stitches are pulling out, driver seat is good, motorbox good, and bow area is decent, no tears at this point. So, can I get away with doing rear seat, deck, and coaming and just fixing stitching here and there as needed? I won't be doing the work, will get a pro to do the install. I guess my question is will I regret this in just a couple of years? David I have been replacing mine a bit at a time as it becomes unserviceable. I bought enough vinyl to do the entire boat. Have just been getting my local upholsterer to do the pieces that need it the most. This winter I am getting the observer seat base done. It is still ok but the vinyl is getting hard and brittle (is uncomfortable to sit on). When I first got the boat the two outside rear seat bases needed urgent attention. Last winter the bow insert was re skinned. Had some small tears in drivers side walkway and the driver seat sides done at the same time. If I was in the US like you I would be just replacing the skins from Christines as required. Looks like you need rear seat bases and the wrap around back section. I would do them straight way before the foam deteriorates anymore. The rear seat and deck are not only ripped, they are hard and brittle. It's almost like everything from the motorbox forward was covered, the rear seat and deck were out in the sun, night and day difference. If you put a knee on the deck it almost shatters the vinyl. I think that stripe mistake might add value to the boat once everyone here sees it.
