I noticed a couple of problems today. 1. It engages in forward easily but needs to build up some RPMs before it engages in reverse. 2. I noticed fluid coming out of the case at the shift lever while running. Should I try tightening down the nut or is there something else going on? Any advice? Replies: Posted By: Bob's2001 Date Posted: November-28-2005 at 4:14pm 1. It could be the linkage just needs adjusting. The control valve may be crudded up, you can check that when you fix the leak. Maybe a little low on fluid or the oil pump could be weak. Did you replace it when you did the reverse clutches? 2. There is an O ring on the control valve shaft where it comes thru the case. It is the most likely source of your leak. The valve is easily removed, take off the shift lever(careful of the detent ball and spring behind it!) the valve cover (3 bolts, it's where the neutral safety switch is)and the valve slides out. Put on a new O ring and valve cover gasket and your leak should be fixed. I hope some of this is useful. ------------- Bob Ed 83 2001
