The bolt/screw/etc that was holding the hitch end of my trailer bunk to the trialer rusted through and now the bunk is going straight instead of following the curve of the trailer. So before I do something stupid I was curious what should I use to hold the bunk again? Seems like I have to push it pretty hard to get it to bend to the correct contour so I'm guessing a few sheet metal screws aint gonna cut it. My idea thus far is to redrill a hole about an inch away from the current bolt and then put a lag of some sort counter sunk.

Just put a new carrage bolt in that's long enough to hold it and put the boat back on to press in down. Theyr're double nutted to keep the nuts from slipping. No need to drill new holes in your trailer.

I would cut a small "x" in the carpet over the old bolt to remove it and still be able to glue the old carpet back down over the new bolt so you won't need to replace the entire bunk. I have used fanged elevator bolts instead of carraige bolts for my bunks. They seem to grip better and you can get them in stainless. They are just a little harder to find.

I put Glide on Bunk Pucks on my trailer... BUT BEFORE YOU DO THIS.... DO NOT USE THE HARDWARE THAT COMES WITH IT!!!!

I did this and i did not get the screw heads down all the way and F()@#ED up my gelcoat. (getting fixed)

What I used after the fact was Flush screws that will go into the trailer... screws that will go into Weed and Metal....

This should re-set your bunks and make your boat slide on to your trailer better and off...

NEVER BACK INTO WATER WITH OUT BOW STRAP if you go this way....

PM me of you want to call me and i can give you the FULL run down....
