"EXTRA - EXTRA" READ ALL ABOUT IT!!!!!!!
Northern-Midwest Correct Craft Reunion Dates Are Set!!

Its official, JULY 14th ,15th&16th
   at Green Lake Wisconsin

We need to be thinking about "things to do" (i here rumors of the stones or some other equally important band attending ;) -and may start a suggestion post a little later)-

BUT first its going to be important to get reservations set!    I or mojoman will post info on what we hope to be "base camp" hotel(s) as well as info on camp grounds etc. Probably by mid-next week. Its going to be the responsibility of each person/family attending to call and set yours...

PLEASE take the time to make your plans RIGHT NOW!!!!!! We wont have a lot of time. Im still checking to see how long they will hold rooms. (there are hotels already sold out for that weekend)
So talk with your wife ,kids, dog or whoever in the next few days...BUT PLAN TO ATTEND!!!!!!
Also ... remember all years of boats and ages of people are encouraged to come!!!! Lets overflow the place!!!!
Hope to See You in GREEN!

Thanks....62

Thanks 62 Wood..
Let me expound on this a little further to aid in the decision making... There are plenty of hotels in and around the Green Lake area. Camping as well.

All the hotels up there in this area are small 10-20 room, single floor type places. The Heidel House is a large on water "posh" hotel for $300+ a night accommodations, but without dockside mooring at all.. So there are places to stay regardless.

The Bayview is on the water, within walking distance to everything in town and is a great place to meet up after a day of boating/skiing etc. It is in the mouth of the Marina, so boats are protected from waves/wakes etc. The owner allows for tie ups to several piers free of chage with the room res.

Steve is right, after the first, these rooms will fill completely. I realize we have a following for the 15th weekend, but we may want to look into a week before and take advantage of these rooms on the water. We can have them held without deposit until Christmas. Then they are up for grabs..

The Chamber of Commerce is also willing to help us reserve a public shelter at the county beach/launch for either days of the weekend. This is a great spot for pull up anchoring and wading in from ski runs..

If we can get a show of names of people maybe not interested in hotels vs. camping vs. they don't really care where they stay.. We can get things rolling. Sorry for the pressure, but summer is summer..

Mojo, 62 Wood,

Thanks for all your help on this thing!!! Stang and I went ahead and set this thing for july 15th....We figured that if we dont set it we'll never get things solidified, Sound good to you guys? Hopefully we can find enough rooms to accomodate all? I Have an RV that i will be staying in, so no reservations are needed for myself. Stang mentioned to me that a few of his buddies that have a blues type band will be comming and will give us all a chance to throw back a few beverages off water and for us musicians a chance to jam. So the public shelter is a great idea... Thanks again and i hope that the 15th will work? As you say lodging will fill up fast so grab em up while the getting is good! Let me know....Will The 15th work OK?

Paul,
There is only a matter of accommodations to be had while everyone decides as the months grow shorter. The 15th is good for me and 62'Wood.

I can certainly be called on as the "Cruise Director" for the gathering. I'm happy to do it !!!. The only thing I cannot do is hold rooms for anyone. This is going to be up to the individuals as they see and hear of the reunion. Come first of the year, all Green Lake hotels will book up. I can vouch for all of them since I have stayed at them all. So if anyone has any questions, please feel free. It's first come first serve..

Other than that I can plan, with a few of you, the activities for a really nice weekend up in Green Lake. The band idea is fantastic... We should plan on that Sat night..

OK, it's the 15th MARK YOUR CALENDARS !!!!

67 and stang thanks for "supplying" a band!!! and helping solidify a date.....

See you on July 14-16th!!!!

Any hotties in town or on the lake?
Whats the view like at green lake?
Also Will any of us out of towners need any special passes or licences for boating? Hopefully not much of a lake patrol?

Paul,

OK Paul, here's what to expect..

Hotties: yes there will be some eye candy found in and around the GreenLake area. They might be wear'n flannel but what "da hey der" Now, if you're swing'n an ax or beat'n the Toms, you'll be in good shape..

Boating: na, hell there is no special tags or issues to be concerned with. There is heavy DNR action at times. Just keep your boat registration up to speed and enough flotation on the boat (am I'm not talking the 2 legg'd type as we've seen on your craft) afterall, there are some "lady" DNR agents out there hahaha

You'll have a blast on this water.. Mid day if it's windy the middle will rock your teeth with waves, but there's ways around it.. Come Friday night when we all meet and toss a few down I will provide everyone with lake maps and go over a few lake tips and sites as your MC

Rock n Roll..

So, if I were to fly in from California, where would be the best location to fly? Milwaukee? Madison? Chicago? Hell of a long way for a 3 day weekend, and without my own boat, but I think it might be fun. If you don't jump in, life has a way of passing you by.

BHP,
Green is really right inbetween taking the West Routes out of Madison and the East Routes from Milwaukee. Your cheapest fares will be into Chicago however. From Califonia, you would probably connect from O'Hare to Madison.. Either way we'll make sure you get up there quickly to enjoy the fun of Paul, his "harem" and Fender Strat in tow !!! LOL....

Hey Mojo, thanks.

I'll see if I can't take a look this weekend. Any idea who flies to Milwaukee or Madison. I think I've got a couple of tickets on Southwest, and could fly to Midway with them. I've probably got a ton of miles on United and American as well. If we're able to do it, I might just fly to Chicago, and take a couple extra days. Wife has never been to the windy city.

Hey guys, here's something to take with you into the holidays. I was answered by email by the GM of the supper club in GL that sponsors in water, vintage boat shows.. He's going to check the dates, but thinks we can be worked in for the weekend.. If that's of interest of course to the group.. We of course could still do this on our own in the sand bottom shallows on the West side of the lake !!!

Happy Holidays everyone.. We'll look forward to picking this up again after New Years..

Can someone email me all the facts and I'll setup a registration page.

What I need to know/confirm:
Date: 7/14-16
Location: Green Lake, WI
Venue: [Lake, State Park, etc.]
Venue URL:
Boat Launch:
Event Coordinator: [local contact for questions]
Recommended Accomidations: [hotels in area]
Admission: [any fees due day of event - could include CorrectCraftFan.com decals and T-shirts?]
Planned Activities: [will depend on the numbers attending but some suggestions include: dailiy BBQs, early AM skiing/boarding, in-water boat show/parade.]

Also, does anyone mind calling this a 'CorrectCraftFan.com' event so we can avoid any issues with CC?

I will do my best to attend the event my self - most likely without my boat.

Thanks,
Keith

BKH,
Unfortunately during this weekend, the Bayview (being the only in town hotel on the water is booked up. I believe there was 2 rooms left about 2 weeks ago..

We are waiting till hotel owners return after New Years to look at group rates etc. The most open hotel right now is about 1/2 mile from down town GL called the Green Lake Inn. It is a newly remodled, no frills hotels which is down the street from the campgrounds and down town GL.. You may want to look that this as Home base. The Hiedle House, Dartford Inn and Lakeside are the other hotels close to the main marina to look into..

Hope this helps for now.. More definative plans will be put into place after the holidays for sure, but I believe we will be negotiating with Green Lake Inn for blocks of rooms..

Happy New Year !!!

Yes Gents, this is the place.. It's about 50 yards from my front door. The Heidel House is really quite a place. Great accommodations, food, entertainment, pools. The only thing it doesn't have is boat slips.. It's expensive under regular conditions, but if you have time share opportunities, it's the best place to stay....

Hi All !
Ive talked with a lady from the green lake inn a couple of times.. its hard to get in touch with her , as im calling her cell phone.(its off season and no ones at the inn ) She is tentatively going to hold 10 or so rooms for us until mid feb or so.
A lot of places were pretty well booked when I started calling 3 or 4 weeks ago! Im waiting til she can get to the office to verify this.. .

As for other accomodations, you are most welcome to use any hotel, etc in the area. I did talk with the Heidel house also, and we are welcome there also. It just the rooms are a little pricey that time of year..but looks like a very nice hotel.

I will keep everyone posted (hopefully thru Keith) as I find out more info!

2006!!! Only 6 1/2 months to go!!!..better start polishing the boats!!!

OK finally...Heres the scoop on Green Lake. The only place we could find with multiple rooms was the Green Lake Inn They are holding 10 rooms for a month or so.

The rates are around $85 per night plus tax. Each person is responsible for their own reservations. When you register, ask and she will give us an extra 10% off. If you have any questions, please ask her(Linda).

Right now the best way to get her is on her cell phone (920)539-1295. The Inns # is (920)294-3417,but its off season and usually no one around.
Of coarse you are welcome to check on any of the hotels as you wish. There are also a couple campgrounds in the area for those wanting to go that route.

Green Lake Chamber has a good web site with lots of info on the area. Its web site is          <greenlakecc.com>
As for a schedule of events, we are getting ready to start that.If you have any suggestions, please let us know!

Keith was also talking about starting a page for the Reunion.
Sooo....there you have it! Now start registerng for a fun filled weekend !!!
          July 14,15 and 16!!
SEE YOU THERE!!!!!!! ...62

Just called and let Linda know that I would be there. I was surprised as she said I was the first one from the group to do so. I hope I'm not the only one to stay there!! Let me know if you found a better deal somewhere. Can't wait for July!!!

Not to worry Rleinen79, this spot is going to work out as "Base Camp". Once we post all the information about the weekend, we'll fill the place I'm sure.. This hotel is right down the street (walking distance) to a small public beach and fishing piers. It's also directly adjacent to the main Camp site in town.Oh, and our tavern.... Rooms are supposed to be completely remodeled...

We are working out the details for a few of us to meet and layout the weekend for everyone. In a few short weeks we will post all the information you need to plan around and have a great time.. No dissapointments !!!

I'm passing on the timeshare as my plan requires that I use it a week at a time, and I don't have that much time to spare. My plan is to Fly from California to Milwaukee on the 13th and drive out to Green Lake . . . Enjoy the CC comeraderie Friday, Saturday, and Sunday Morning, and return Sunday eve.

Looking to bum some boat space for me and the wife (with gas money of course).

RLeinen, I had planned to call Linda this weekend

Oh there will be plenty of boat space BKH !!! I do believe there will be multiple boats attending per certain families.. You'll get wet !!!!

As for other people that would like to attend this event, and are coming in, or are thinking of coming in without their beloved boats, add yourelf to the list regardless... There will plenty of space and area's (coves and beaches) where ski and boating runs will alternate from..

Please don't feel unwelcome or bothersome.. I will have two boats up there myself !!!

That Is all....

I think I said this once before, but mine isn't really a "classic". It's a 97, but It's still a CC which is all that really matters. I keep meaning to post pics in the diaries section, but I haven't decided on the ones that I like best. It may not have the sound of the classics, but boy will it lay down a nice, flat, close to perfect slalom wake!! You can see her for now at

http://planetnautique.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=3662

I can't wait to go for a ride in some of your beauties. I grew up with a 71 Martinique, a 67 Mustang, and severeal "2001"'s. The countdown to july is on!!!!!!

Well, the center of the Lake is located at:

43.09.02 N and 88.22.45 W

hehe

Center of town is slightly NE of that position.

Or, translated, 40 miles or so NW of Milwaukee.

Depends upon where, in CA, you are flying from. Makes no sense to fly into MKE and change planes to MSN and then drive to the site. That'll make it one long day.

If the airport you will use in CA has direct service to MKE (Milwaukee), fly to MKE and drive to West Lake. That's your best bet.

Just some food for thought again on travel arranging.. Milwaukee is only an hour max from O'Hare airport. I would imaging that tickets are going to be the cheaper, more direct flights, and better prices on car rentals coming into Chicago..

The toll road heading North is found right outside of the airport to Milwaukee and North..

Just an FYI..

Mojo,

Thanks. I saw rountrip ticks on American for
$210. At that rate, not worth the extra 2 or 3
hours in the car.

Meant to make reservations this weekend, but life got in the way.

----------   Reunion Update-------------

There are 4 people that have volunteered there time and talents to making this a memorable event. We will all get together on
the 28th of January, form a committee and decide what, where, when and how we will make this a good time for everyone.

Many suggestions have been "tabled", which we
have already. There are dozens of people now that know about the reunion plans, on multiple forum sites. There is this time before the meeting to make suggestions. So, please use this forum to pitch any further ideas.. or email me at d.dorsen@worldnet.att.net and we'll bring them all up during this gathering..

Hope to hear from you and to make this again a memorable, safe and fun time for all attending..

That is all..

Just wanted to say thanks to the people that are doing the majority of the planning. I wish I was closer to the location and could do something to help. I'm sure anything you come up with will be great. The only suggestion that I could come up with is a pretty obvious one.........lots of time behind those Nautiques, and a great place to pull up on shore and take a break when needed. Once again my deepest thanks to the planners, and I can't wait to shake your hands in July!

Rleinen79 and others,

What we really need for help is for everyone to spread the word to anyone that has a Correct Craft that they are welcome. We need people to come out. If this goes over well I can see it becoming an annual event at a different lake each year.

The other thing we need is suggestions for activities. we have a pretty good list so far but you've got 2 weeks to come up with more. Just today I thought, How about a swap meet? There's always a swap meet at a car show right. So we'll throw that on the table and if there's enough interest it may happen. Could be a good way to unload some extra boat parts or ski gear. Like maybe a barefoot suit that no longer fits, yes I'm in market for a xl if anyone has one.

Rleinen79,

Suggestion is a for sure must right.. There are not only spots for refreshments, but 3 foot deep, sand bottom coves, public beaches with docks and a full service marina with plenty of parking.... Oh yeah, we're going to be in the water alright !!!

Tell everyone you know !!!

Looking forward to it. I'll have to get cell numbers from some of you as we get closer.

Hey Paul,

I don't have anyone beat right now, my boats in about a hundred pieces scattered throughout the garage and basement.

Coming together pretty good but I'm at a standstill until we get some warm weather. Interior is done but I can't glue the carpet down, too cold.

Minicraft is having a hard getting color info from CC to mix up some gelcoat so I can touch up a few chips.

I need to start prepping the hull so we can restripe it, may do that this weekend but we'll see.

Engine wise. it's dead stock but runs real strong. Still has less than 300 hours on the boat so I'm gonna leave it alone for now.

Funny thing, only 300 hours but it's still 25 years old. Seems the more I look the more I find to fix up.

Can't wait to see yours, that's a nice looking ride.

Thank God a good mechanic friend had a battery in stock for it and came over and helped me install it. By that time it was almost 7 tho. so we decided to get up early Sat morning and leave....

Sorry I couldnt make the meeting! Man sooo close , well take care , I'll be back in touch in a week or so! Thanks for all "you's-guys" help!! steve

In the meantime gang, I am putting together a tentative schedule of events and once the other planners review it we'll get it posted. We have a few exciting sponsors that we're trying to get firm commitments from in the next few weeks so the pieces will keep falling into place.

Thanks to Stang and Mojo for coming out in the miserable weather. Great to finally meet you guys.
