my 78 has a small rubber hose right at the bottem of the battery box that runs between the engine bilge and the box
I don't know if everyone else has this problem, but mine gets water in it every time out. Is there something I can do keep the water out?

I have the same problem on my 79. from what I can tell the bilge is in the wrong spot on mine. The low spot seems to be in front of this hose and to the drivers side. I plan on relocating my bilge to this area and away from the drain in the haul.

yo dan, your pm didn't link. i moved the battery box up into the bow on the port side for better weight distribution.

look for a scupper (one way valve) for that size hose or you can turn the old battey box in to a 6-pack cooler and plug it.
