Seems the youngsters and young kids are "not into" water skiing but rather wakeboarding and wake surfing. In fact I do not recall seeing many youngsters skiing this entire past summer. Wake surfing is all the rage in ATX, even the "old folks" are finding its fun and easy on the body. Not ready to put out on a new tow-boat. Anyone have experience with installing fatsacks/pump on a 99 or similar design Ski Nautique Open Bow? If yes, can you send me the facts and or a link to this sort of project? Is waterskiing a dying sport? |

If you're looking for a boat for wakeboarding purposes, you may want to look into a 2001 (1982-89) hull. They're relatively inexpensive and throw a great wakeboard wake without any ballasts. I know you said you didn't want to "put out" on a different boat, but I can just imagine how much weight you'd have to stack in a TSC hull to get a good wake. wakeboard is more marketed these days I think... If your kids are looking for a thrill sport, introduce them to the barefoot skiing experience! a real extreme sport! 99 is a TSC hull not a huge wake thrower. I have a 92 sn CB, I used to put a 600 sac in the back and 600 on each side of the motorbox. Also sometimes depending how much people was on board, i would put another 200lb sack in the back... For surfing 600 in the back, and 2 x 600 on the riders side... Way out of limit, but only way to get some wake out of these boats imho... ------------- <a href="">1992 ski nautique |

I have one that looks like a big duffle bag. I put it on the floor just ahead of the back seat. I use a jump pack to power the pump. Fill it use it and then pump it out. Mine is used in a regular 98 nautique CB with a fly high. I only use it with the kids <90lbs so a huge wake is not that important.
