over the winter i am going to have some parts of my formula interior /engine cover etc done , along with the soaked padding/foam i have to replace the plywood backing with something , has anyone tried solid azec type board? it comes in half and 3/4 " i believe it is in 4x8 ' sheets . I also wonder about cooza will it not retain water? can it be stapled? there is no part that is being replaced that has any need to have the rigidity of 3/4 ply and am looking for something that will not hold so much water , any thoughts?

I've asked this question before and haven't gotten a good answer. Coosa would be great, but it won't hold staples well. And it's super expensive. No idea if azek would work well or not. Starboard has been suggested but there are mixed reviews about how well it would work as a base, and whether it not it holds staples well. Next time I do a "forever" boat, I think I'm going to give expanded PVC (XPVC) a try.
