That's a 2 door, right? Didn't some detective from a '70's show drive one? Maybe Streets of San Francisco?
What engine is in it? That was the right time for having a 455 as an option, I know you're a Chevy guy but Olds 455's are awesome highway engines with tons of torque. Need some pictures!

i will get some pics up soon but she's pretty tough looking and green on green w white top.. Gary the 455 would be my first choice but i need to run what i have. i have numerous 454s in pieces I want an o/d tranny i hope to go with black on black white top or black white roof white interior.

Pete my Dad used to tow a 27 foot Airstream with his 71 and 76 Caddy with just a trans cooler installed. I would think yours could tow the Formula. Those old cars were built like trucks.

With some careful off the shelf suspension, brake and drivetrain management components I see 5 tons easily.

Gary is it true you could take an airstream by the tongue and move it around by hand?

Maybe the 13 footer Pete. Their early ad's showing one being pulled by a bike, artistic licence I'm sure. I remember hooking it up and never man handleing it. 6000 pounds pops into my head too,no plastic forks or paper plates there It was also a tandem in the days when radials were only on them "foreign" cars.

I went thru the car finally today . it was owned by a friend of mine for the last 10 yrs . I never gave it a second glance but inspecting it today . I cant find a rot spot on the whole car .. needs a top either a olds 350 rebuild or a bb chev or if i find a 455 i will use that . I thought it had a green interior but its white and more or less salvageable (I love black black top white interior idea. ) rear wheel wells look like they will take a fat tire wheel combo . I was thinking crager ss with mickey thompson m60 15 bias adding a pioneer round dial super tuner and jenson 6x9s maybe some chrome side pipes and some hair club for men and a bottle or premixed screw driver and i am off ....

not too sure why i am starting on this with a barn full of gold to work on but its under my skin and the challenge to polish a turd . i am pretty settled on black , black top white interior . a variant of centerline streeter 17 inch wheel five spokes . a little lower , and an o/d trans definitley losing the body side moulding. I have it gutted ,dechromed the trunk is done , floors p.o.r 15 done and sealed. now i am ready to get the nose off.

The first time I ever smelled tire smoke was in the backseat of a Delta 88 with my friends dad driving.

Looks like one I learned to drive with.
Mine had alot of foot prints on the rear windows, some upside down.
Made my Mother cry and my Father smile.
Sweet ride. The Excursion is sweet too, +1 if it is a diesel.
