I don't thnk the writer was comparing incidents. What I read was about the way 'aftermath' is 'caculated'. The reasons our soldiers and ambassadors are heroes is that they understand the risks and knowingly accept them in service of their country. I didnt say they shouldnt do it, I just think they damn well aught to do it right. If they purposefully slack on safety to save a couple bucks while putting to risk the lives of thier employees, and the livelyhoods of millions of gulf coast workers then screw em.. shut em down give thier leases to someone who is willing to make 24 billion a year. If it was a small company owned by you or I, then we would be in jail and bankrupt, because it is a corporation they get away with a fine that is barely going to cause a blip in thier stock prices. Its not like they were drilling on their land.. they are drilling in our gulf.
