Here's what I believe to be a spare tire bracket that is part of the 71' trailer I have. If anyone is interested, I'll sell it separate of the trailer or make sure it's with the trailer when sold...

No one needs an original early 70's #3 trailer ?????? We were all dying for one of these at one point.....

I'll take the spare tire carrier/bracket. Shoot me a PM with a price, and a mailing address.

I didn't find any details on the #3 trailer you have for sale. Any photos, price, and condition (what does it need) to pull it to upstate NY??

Thanks, Todd

Hi Todd,
Sorry, MIA for a few days...

Tire carrier $25.00 Free if you want the trailer.. It's in great shape, needs nothing but some fresh paint and OEM fenders if so inclined. It has Lil dude fenders on it now.. Newer tires, fresh bearing pack and new wiring.. Has all loading equipment as well..
Send me an email and I'll send some pics.

As a bonus you can have the 71' Hull too

Thanks
Dave

Dave,

I'm interested in the trailer as I think it may fit my 63 classic hull and would be more period correct than what is under it now. Pictures to pyramidguy1@hotmail.com, wold be appreciated. Who knows what a trip to Illinois would involve, but probably more than a trailer to make it worthwhile.

Thanks, Todd

Add a low bow stop, some proper fenders, wheels/tires and a jack, and that would definitely be close to period correct for the Classic!

Though, I bet you could do the same with the trailer you already have... from Jared Woodall's description, thats the original trailer:

"The trailer looks to be original and is from the early 1960’s. It was modified with a new axel, springs, fenders and diamond plate walking surface (real nice for loading). New bunks & winch assist in the float Off and On process."

Just ditch the fenders, diamond plate and winch/bowstop and replace with proper period correct items.

Dave,

I've been chewing on my decision to buy your trailer, even picking it up Monday in Ohio with your generous delivery offer, but now have to decline.

My interest in your trailer was really ramped up when I had the possibility of picking up the '83 Barefoot Banana Boat #1 sans trailer, but that deal with Steve Karras (Air206) fell through with the seller, as he didn't understand our emotional connections. Drat!! for all of us. Sorry!

But anyway, I am still on board for the spare tire carrier. Email me your mailing address, and I'll get you a check including the shipping to Todd Benjamin, 1014 Cherokee Rd., Scotia, NY, 12302.

Thanks, Todd

Dave, what's the story on that boat? The interior looked so clean. What was the problem that led to its parting out, rather than restore? It was a nice year and color boat.

Whole boat was painted red (many times)..Something fell on it and smashed the dash in half (cracked it in 2). The stringers were rotten. Had a blown engine.. But yes, the interior was in pretty good, as was a ton of parts that I was going to use, or have spares on for the Promo I sold to Paul.

Boat was destined for parting out... Shame really, but you can't save them all... Still have the hull if anyone wants it. Other than that I'm trying to scrap it somewhere, so I can concentrate on selling the trailer.. (Which is cheap at this point). I want all this out of my garage A-SAP !!!!

Anyone wants a hull for making a bar and a 70's #3 trailer in good shape, please let me know !!

Marc..... I just found one in my garage while packing up some stuff to sell (hopefully) at the St. John's Run. To me, it seems smaller than the ones we used more recently. I had it priced at $5.

Need more details.

What specific engine do you have?   Unless you are trying to match the original manifolds in appearance, any 260, 289, 302, or 351 manifold will fit the heads. The type of manifold you use will depend on motor box clearance. There are myriad aftermarket manifolds available from various sources. I have a pair of Ford manifolds and risers that are exactly like the PCM ones of recent years, but they might not fit under your motor box.
