Thinking about a new prop for my '89 in the spring. I bought the boat last year and it came with a Federal 14x16 3 blade. I believe this may be original, but I also heard some 89's came stock with a four blade OJ. Anyway, I am looking for a good all around performer. Based on reading some old threads, I am leaning toward an Acme 422. The boat is used primarly for slalom 22-32 off at 32-34 MPH. We might pull an occational wakeboard run, but no ballast system or tower. I Would like something that may soften the wake at 22 off. The boat is in storage so I do not have any data on RPM at WOT...etc. It is the stock PCM 351 with the 1:1:23 trans. Any help/suggestions/deals would be appreciated. Thanks.

Scott

The 4-blade OJ didnt come stock until 1997... that 14x16 3-blade Federal is the original wheel for a '89.

The 422 is likely the best choice for an all around prop if youre going to buy something blind (without comparing existing performance numbers).
