Does anyone know if there is a bailer plug that fits the battery box drain on a 88 SN2001? I'm currently restoring my boat and the battery box had a lot of nasty stuff that apparently backed in from the bilge area.

Had same problem. I just use a bottle stopper from the hardware store. Drilled a hole in it & put a screw in for removal purpose.

I'm thinking if you guys have got that much water in the bilge that you need to plug the battery box drain then you've got a bigger issue to be concerned about.

Tim's question is valid. Why would you want to stop your battery box from draining? If fluid is going the other way hopefully it is a one-time thing.
My battery box was plugged with tree leaves and general black slime when I got it (Look http://www.correctcraftfan.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=21147&PN=3&title=a-rough-1993-ski" rel="nofollow - here or http://kroundysboat.wordpress.com/2011/09/15/what-i-did-last-summer/" rel="nofollow - here if interested). After a lot of cleaning the bilge area is now clean from the battery box to the stern, as it was intended to be.

If you do have an issue with water in the bilge, locate what the problem is. BTW, the battery doesn't care if it sits in water.

Peter,
I'm still trying to get this nautique running again, I bought it in January and I'm trying to fix everything on it. My thought is if I get water in the battery box, something that shouldn't normally happen anyway, I can just pull the drain plug. I like keeping my battery clean, and I will not have to worry about it if I do get water in the bilge for some reason.

Haven't met an older Correct Craft yet that didn't have a little water in the bilge sloshing around. Not too many older CC's have the dripless packing that I've seen. No worries unless you don't have a bilge pump or your the boat Doc.
On second thought if you don't have the dripless packing on the drive shaft then you'd better see water in the bilge as you are supposed to have a couple of drips coming from the coupling. If you don't then it's too tight.
