Last night Mark was pulled out in front of by someone(didn't get the whole story). This is what I pulled up to and saw at the shop this morning.

It's Mark's 1956 Willys that his grandpa bought new and spent its whole life in Colorado. Came factory with the western plow setup. Pushed the frame over quite a bit.

I would have stepped out and thumped on whoever's head it was that pulled out infront of him.

Thankfully he is ok because those are not a choice vehicle to be in an accident while driving.

That's a shame. I really like old vintage jeep stuff, so hate to see that. Hopefully repairable.

I hope so too. The thing is in wonderful shape. Mark and I just threw on a new carb(updated version) and set the timing properly and it runs like a top. Pushes snow all winter long. I would love to see it restored after this.

It originally came in Plantation white.

Oh man, that sucks.    Was just watching the re-run of the Fast & Loud episode where they just finished a complete rebuild of an old mustang and it got totaled on the test/tune drive and hit by someone w/o insurance. Hopefully that wasn't the case in your friends accident.

I have owned one CJ and one Wrangler. Actually preferred the CJ5. Wish I had an old Willys or CJ now, just to toodle around up to the grocery store and such with.

I want a CJ5 for the lake house. The driver was insured(on paper)but had no drivers license. Mark just had PLPD on the Jeep.

Pisses me off the driver shouldn't have even been on a roadway that law abiding citiznes pay taxes to use.

That is certainly upsetting, but it's just a car.

Jeeps/Willys are never just a car.

Saying a vintage jeep is just another car is like saying a cherry 60s CC mustang is just another bayliner outboard. Old jeeps are very cool. New jeeps however, are just another car. Even the cj-now wrangler has evolved into just another cushy SUV, undistinguishable from any other SUV.

Andy: jeepster commando = especially very cool.

Woah, I never called it the Bayliner of cars.

*************** happens. Driving on the roads is a risk I'm sure he was aware of. Cars are made to be driven.

Oh comon HW. If you waded up the Caddy youd shed a tear...

My dad had a 69 Jeepster he used to pull the 74 around with. Pretty cool looking rig.

I had the chance to buy mine back (I sold it in 93 after 14 yrs 300,000+miles) I decided not to. Mostly due to lack of place to put it.
