1986 ski N. Been trying to fig out where in the Lords name is the best place to place the receiver, and speakers. I see small speakers from Overtons. Not sure how good they are?

Anyone have a idea? placement of this stuff. Someone gave me some pics last year. what he did, Did not know if there is a simple way to this matter...

Ty--

Lin,
Do you want to ski or listen to music? There are several threads on speaker and receiver locations. You will need to build speaker enclosures so you don't need to drill/cut holes destroying the original.

No need for a receiver if you have an iPod or iPhone, that solves the mounting situation

Totally agree with Brian.... Mount a headless amp that can take mp3 input...small and simple!

I am doing something similar in the Barefoot.........

No radio, just an amplifier that can take in your MP3 signal and send it out to your speakers.

iSimple is75 cable charges and connects to the bottom port on an iPod.

JL Audio CL RLC is a line driver that gives you a volume control knob, the bottom port of an iPod sounds best, but the volume is fixed at loud.

Then you just need an amp and some speakers. There are some ways to add Bluetooth to this setup, but I haven't seen one so far that works well a boat. Most either degrade the sound quality or can't get a reliable connection. There are some people working in it and I expect to see something that works well in the next year or so.

I do believe I will ditch the head unit this year and just install the amp that I already have if it is capable of running a line in from the phone. Heck all we do is use the phone anyways. Days of CD's are long gone.

I am swapping out radio head for media head unit in the BFN - MP3 control, with media streaming and call connect via bluetooth. My only issue is where to put a microphone for BT use..... I am thinking in the alarm buzzer bezel. Keep original look, out of wind and near driver....or perhaps near capacity plate on side wall.....
