Hi Guys,
My friend took out his water pump to replace the impeller and did not mark the top or bottom hose locations. How can we find out which way it is supposed to go so we dont put it in backward.
It is a 1987 Supra with a PCM 351
Thanks

Tyler, Take a look at http://www.depcopump.com/catalogs/current_industrial/catalog207/catalog207-165.pdf#search=" rel="nofollow - this diagram on how a flexible impeller pump works Then compare it to the rotation of your friends engine. Keep in mind that the screw on the outside of the pump body is retaining the impeller cam.

It has a PLD serial code on the engine so that makes it a left hand rotation correct. So standing from the stern looking to the bow the pulleys and water pump would turn counterclockwise correct?

So yes you have a LH engine, same as most 89-02 Fords around here. http://s134.photobucket.com/user/kfleisch/media/impellers.jpg.html" rel="nofollow">
