I know we have a few western New Yorkers here... I just posted this video by a client of mine in support of Jim Kelly. If you don't know who he is, Jim Kelly is an NFL hall-of-fame member and was the QB for the Bills in the 90's. He announced that he has cancer in his jawbone and is undergoing surgery tomorrow.

Jim and those '90s teams were a big part of my life at the time.

Yes they were good teams... and fun to watch. I actually stopped watching them and/or caring after around 2002 or so.

I just got an email forwarded from Jim Kelly's assistant that said to my client: "I just showed Jim the video… he was laughing. He said thank you and looks forward to having a beer with you once he gets through this!"

We were all fans of The Juice in our youth, but I guess that's no longer appropriate.....

sigh I married a buff girl. Grew up right outside the stadium in orchard park. Was even a bartender at the anchor bar for the majority of her highschool and Brockport days. It amazes me how buffalo fans can have so much passion for what is at best a mediocre team. Hell she almost has this Tampa Bay boy believing lol! Though I still refuse to use the family football season tix, I wear out the hockey tix. I find I have enough room in my hockey heart for TB and the Sabres. All the damn Blue light and 'EHs' does get annoying though.

It sure does look beautiful there.

I just spent my lunchtime hearing stories about Jim when he was a bachelor. I had always heard about the parties at his house after games, and my uncle claims to have been to a few. The story of his bachelor party trip to Vegas had a "The Hangover" ring to it.

We heard that his surgery was succesful today.

Have several buds who played hockey at Brockport, they all graduated back around the mid 80's, probably before your wifeys time.

Barge in Stumble out mean anything to you (or wifey)??

Funny story, my buddy Brownie borrowed his mom's car to drive out from Chicago to Brockport for registration, turned into a road trip, we stopped at our place in CT among other places, we must have been gone 2 weeks +, lol, never forget him telling his mom as we were leaving, "we will be back in a couple days". Lots of stories from that trip, lol

Yeah, CT is a little out of the way from Chicago to Brockport. I have a nephew going to Brockport to play lacrosse in the fall (it certainly isn't to get good grades).

John - why don't you use the football tickets? They have all that passion for mediocrity because what else do they have in Buffalo?
