Hey, first post here. I always find the best info in these designated forums and as a new owner of alate 70s 25' Fish Nautique i found this forum on every search i made for info.so figured id post up.
SO i have a list of things i'm curious about.
1-My rudder seems tiny and inadequate for the job its supposed to do. (haven't dropped her in the water yet) IF anyone has any info and some dimensions or pictures of what should be under this 25' Fish that would be wonderful so i can make a fresh one up.
2- The Wheel, whats the proper size and pitch for these boats? 351W reverse rotation. 280Hp I dont even know what gear it has, i think its a borg warner but dont know yet.
3-can i find OE fish nautique decals anywhere online for the sides?
4. where do you guys get your parts like motor mounts, steering components, drive components, shaft, and anything else that would be unique to these boats? is this stuff Kellogg would have? or am i at the mercy of dealers?
here are a few pictures after initial cleaning.

Hi Tony and welcome to the site. Those Fish Nautiques are pretty cool. There are a few guys here that really want to find one.
There are several places you can get parts from: www.skidim.com, www.mycorrectcraftparts.com, www.n3boatworks.com, nautiqueskins.com, nautiqueparts.com and more generic things from places like www.jamestowndistributors.com and marineengine.com
In 77, I believe the graphics were all painted and I've never seen Fish Nautique decals for sale (not that I am the expert on it) so you may have to paint them on yourself.
Your rudder looks to be the right one.
The 351W and a Borg Warner 1:1 transmission may have been original on yours as well.

Thanks for the links Ny ill check them out. I looked and this is a 79. And I did see that build up of the fish, lots of work and lots of time went into that project. Looks excellent too. Not what I'm looking to do right away. Going to get some sea time on her first before I decide how going to rig her out.
Also if I measure her from bow to Stern she's about 23' but measures 25' with platform. Title says 25'. Is there a fish nautique 23 and 25 or are they all 23?

Interesting that the title says 25'. It is a 23', not including the platform.
If you look at the reference section of this website, you will see the 1979 (and other years) brochure. Either they didn't include the Fish in the brochure or we don't have all the pages scanned, but you can see it in the cool "fleet" picture below.
The 1978 http://www.correctcraftfan.com/reference/1978_brochure/index.asp?page=15" rel="nofollow - brochure has Fish Nautique specs, as do other years.

Also, you may be planning this already, but if you are going to trailer that boat often, I suggest getting/building a prop guard for the trailer.

I'm also contemplating building my rudder so that I can remove it for travel since currently I cannot back it in my yard the way it is. Anyone know why they didn't use a balanced rudder in these boats? Seems to be plenty of room behind the wheel.

Some guys put rollers on the prop guard so that it lifts over a high spot. Might be a better solution than a removable rudder.

Thanks I didn't even think of that. I will be making mine with a roller for sure now. How close do those usually come to everything under there?

Before you get too tied up in building a prop guard,I'd be more concerned about the frame rust at the bunk mount. No prop guard made will save you if the frame breaks there

Very true, Gary. Tony - here's a pic from one of the Mastercraft trailers. And http://www.mastercraft.com/teamtalk/showthread.php?t=14807&page=2" rel="nofollow - here's a thread where they put the roller wheel inside the crossbar. That looks like a clean install. I think someone on CCF did the same thing but I can't find the thread.
Also, take a look at http://www.etrailer.com/dept-pg-Motorhome_Accessories-sf-Skid_Wheels.aspx" rel="nofollow - these from e-trailer.
