Gregr, I would say depends upon what a hell of a deal is. Those boat go for 5-7K here in Norcal. Be sure and check the boat thoroughly. Check for soft spots in the floor. Take a socket and check the motor mount bolts which screw into the stringers. If the bolts aren't biting, you may have rot in the stringers. If possible, drive it before you buy it and make sure it is acceptable to you. I've never been a fan of the steering in Centurions. I find them to be very stiff. The boat was a pretty good ski and barefoot boat. If you plan to wakeboard, you'll probably have to add a LOT of weight to get a decent sized wake. Boat is very flat bottom, and can be pretty bouncy in rough water. BKH ------------- Livin' the Dream |

just out of curiosity, i stopped by and asked the owner if he would like to get rid of it,he told me "give me 1500.00,and get it out of my garage" ,floor is solid,seats and engine cover are not faded or torn,he clams it had a "tick" while running,so he parked it,is it worth it? i have some pics,just cant figure out how to post????
worst case it has the same engine and tranny as my sn (parts). |

$1500, how can you go wrong? Clean it up.
Enjoy it for the summer. This will give you time on the water to check out the Nautiques, so that when you sell the Centurion for a profit, you'll know exactly which Nautique you want (and you will want one  ). BKH

Sorry, didn't catch that you already have a SN. That's OK. Again, for 1500, you can't go wrong. The trailer is probably worth 1000.

gregr; I apologise for my comment (thanks BKH for the dose of concience) I did not catch that you also have a C/C either. For $1500 you can't go wrong. Fix and clean her up and turn her for a profit.

just closed the deal on the centurion, sounds like a loose rocker arm on the port side, i will pull the valve cover off tonight and see, after all the nit picking and haggleing, i got the boat for $800.00 CASH! He gave me a pile of reciepts for maintenence and repairs, found one for a new 1400.00 transmission (nov.'04), also got 2 new primex mufflers the long ones with a 45*elbow,a new brass sherwood pump,and a holley mrine carb kit.

| Gregr, wouldn't know what's causing the leak apart from the usual "is it tight? Is the gasket any good?" but a good trick is to spray carb cleaner around all the intake joins, carb to spacer or wedge, spacer to manifold etc. If the engine dies momentarily you have a leak there. I guess if there's a leak it'll suck it in and create a too rich mixture. Anyway, it works - I tracked down a leak in my wife's old VW like that. |

pulled the carb,lower gasket blown out, went to auto zone ,got a new gasket,runs perfect, but it idles at 80psi oil pressure,is that good? i feel sooo BAD for such a good deal, the trailer is absolutly PERFECT 1999 shorelander,need a new prop for it,and my SN,
looking at the acme OR the oj 4 blade, which would you guys recomend, don't ski ,or wake board, both props on both boats are stamped "13x13x1"nibral,cup, federal. ????? looking for good all around props. |

I ran my 66 Baracuda with 80pSI oil without any problem 13X13 is a great a around prop. Are they RH or LH.. | Great buy! I would check or change the oil pressure sending unit and make sure it matched to the gauge. 80psi at idle just HAS to be a mis-read. |
