Anyone have a fix for throttle shafts sucking air besides new carb. I just rebuilt it and it is pulling air at the shafts. Other than that it runs like a champ, just a little lean.

Wrap the shaft in saran wrap tight. Clean the bore for the shaft super clean, Devcon the bore, slide the shaft in and let the Devcon set up. This will only work if the bore is worn, if the shaft is worn it will bind up. That is the southern engineering way. You could drill out the bore and put a bushing in too.

Ford at one time sold a kit for this.
Came with drill bit,4 bushings and reamer.but like gigem said it won't fix bad shaft.

I am pretty sure that the throttle shafts are supposed to leak a small amount of vacum around them. This is a metered vacum leak. I called Holley Technical Assistance on this before and this exactly what they told me. Who has there boat in the water right now where they could go find out if this is everyone or just me and 83SN2001?
