From what I've read on here, the mufflers can be pretty pricey. IS yours missing or damaged?
If it's damaged, they can usually be fixed on the cheap with a fiberglass repair kit.
Most people remove it entirely and just run new hose straight to the motor.

Mine is still there but it leaks around the discharge pipe. A friend of mine put black epoxy on it, but it still weeps. I might take it off completely, but I will have to find a y-pipe for two into one and buy 3 1/2 inch wire re-enforced exhaust hose.
