Does anyone have a shaft, strut, and coupler to fit an American Skier that they would like to part with? ------------- 1970 Mustang "Theseus' paradox" If everyone else is doing it, you're too late! |

John, Get in touch with Zach at N3. He'll set you up with the 6A6 strut. It's 1" longer than the original 6A so you'll need a shaft 1" longer. I just replaced mine on the Tique and since I had already ordered the shaft, I cut and beveled the 6A6 down 1" so that's an option as well. Call up Billy for a ARE shaft. I used it on the Tique. What year boat, John? The late 70's version based on the M17 hull or the early 60's version that preceded the 16' Mustang? The 6a6 isn't the right strut for the latter. ------------- |

Hi Tim. I have forgotten the year but I think it is 67-69 vintage. Here is a thread on the boat. It is a wierd greenish yellow one and you have commented on it before. I have seen the boat on our chain in past. Cosmetically the boat looks in very good condition. The engine mounts are solid and the bolts are tight. I didn't go any farther examining the stringers but I believe it can be aligned when reassembled. Tim, Thanks for chiming in. I'm trying to help this guy out with some stuff because he is on a tight budget. I gave him my spare #2 trailer that needed some repair, the 10" extended pylon I had, and have offered enough Nautex vinyl floor material to do the floor. I'm not begging for parts but used is better than new. With all of the old Mustangs being parted out I thought these parts would be plentiful. I would love to see this boat back on our chain. Late 60's Skier (not Am Skier)... Same hull as the stang so it will need the wide base strut (6wb??) and not the recessed 6a/6a6. You can still get these new from n3, white lake, etc. ------------- |
