I have a 2011 200 OB SN with a 5.7L engine. It has always run at about 160 F. Yesterday it barely got to 120 F and is still running cool. Any suggestions on what could be the cause for such an abrupt change? Thermostat stuck open?

That would be my first guess.

Think I'll have any luck tapping on it?

you can just remove it and see. If it's stuck open, then replace it. It's a cheap part.

Probably not. Even if it by chance close it, pretty good chance it'll stick open again. Replace it now or run it like that until you get ready to winterize it and change it then.

When people run down to the lake to see what's making that noise, you've succeeded.
