Okay Atlanta area CCFans here is your notice...... After hearing from several members about an End OF Season gathering for the GA guys (out of staters too) we're nailing down this date for a gathering of sorts. The up in the air plan is to gather up at the north end of the lake close to Greg and Amy's place (Gainesville). A phone call to the Buffalo this morning said he was okay with us using his dock for Ground Zero but he may be out of town for the weekend. He should know in a few days whether he'll be around for sure and just plan to grill out etc. at his place. Y'all pipe up if your coming or possibly other suggestions to gather up on the south end but weather permitting...we're doing this thing! The more the merrier

Tim: Count me (or us?) in!

Would love to bring the old 74 over (seemed to be a severe shortage of oldies at the last Lanier thing I attended) but going from Peachtree City to Oconee to pick it up and then over to Lanier is a hassle, so I/we'd most likely end up as hitchhikers again, if someone can squeeze another CCFan or 2 in...

P.S.: End of the season? Au contraire mon frer! This is the best time of the year for Georgia boating!!

Sure am ready for a break to the lake after the kind of day (and week) I had yesterday. Was not able to chime in on this until now.
Robin and I are in!
Tough decision: High School fortieth reunion? College and fraternity homecoming? or CCFans on Lanier?
Let's go skiing and boat riding

74Jeff, no problem catching a ride in something. Plenty of boats to choose from and I do realize it's REALLY not the end of the season for us Georgians. We've got till at least Nov.

The little birds had better be there as I may be crashing at their nest for the weekend

Our boat is stored on Buford Dam Rd and we splash it close to Lazy Days Marina. Is there a ramp closer? If now, how do I get there on the water (besides following the other nice Correct Craft's)?

Jeff, I'm sure we can make something happen

Sebastian, it is a pretty long ride, by water, up to Buffalo Greg's place located in the Little River area of Lanier (45 minute ride by boat...if it is not too rough!) Usually, we put in at Little River Park and motor around to Greg's cove.
Look at a Lanier map. Greg is way up north almost to Wahoo Creek.

I would offer you a place, but I won't be able to make the party(or host). I'll be out of town and Amy is way out of town. I also had my annual luncheon with my insurance agent, and he hates the idea of me having folks over without me home. It came up in conversation and, now that he knows, I'd have no grace.

I'm going to miss seeing all of you and having a 'borrowed' driver who knows what's up. I haven't ridden near enough this year. I was planning to get as many of you in my boat as wanted and see where the wake went...oh well.

Yall have fun and make us wish we had been there!

Okay guy's since Greg is gonna be outta town for this little event do we just wanna have this on the south end of the lake. I know that Nautiquehunter has a pontoon that we could anchor out in some quiet cove to use as ground central. It comes equipped with a gas grill so we can just grill out on it in the middle of the lake. You guys who frequent the south end often should know of a quiet cove to do this on. Pipe up.....Whatch y'all think?

We had a Supra/Moomba get together at Young Deer. It was at the park across from the ramp. There is also a island with a sandy beach now that the water is lower. 6 mile is another good location. There is a ski cove next to Bald ridge I will check it out this week.

South end of Lanier is fine with me. Depends on what Mike and Gail want to do with regard to the pontoon. Traffic has been a lot lighter on the lake since football season opened up. Had a great afternoon Sunday!

I chatted with a old friend of mine from grade school via FB who lives on the water by Bald Ridge marina and told her about our little mini. Her husband is a skier and they own an skiboat of some sort (can't remember what it is...never heard of it) and would like to join us for the day. She also referred to that ski cove by marina as that's where they go. Food for thought.

The weathermen here in GA. cant predict what will happen this afternoon.
Your better off watching the cows to see if they are laying down or not.
or check the radar the day of the event.

OK
I talked to Morfoot this morning and we are locking in at Bald Ridge ski cove Sat 10-5-13. We are planning to be there at 9am . The ski cove is located on the left side of the marina . As you come into Bald Ridge Marina on the water go straight to the docks and then turn left and go past the no wake buoys. I'm bringing the Pontoon as a home base it will be sporting the CCF banners on both sides. I will have a grill on board all are welcome to cook what they brought. The weather prediction is 83 partly sunny with a 5 mph wind. I was in the water over the weekend and its still confortable high 70s low 80s. Looks to be a great end of season get together . If you have questions call me at 678-227-8833. We will see you there.

Hiya Jim:

Much as I'd like to drag the Southwind over sometime, gonna hitchhike again this time. Most likely solo; not likely..but possibly with a friend. Just spoke with Morfoot; gonna text him a "come pick me up" message from Bald Ridge Marina on arrival. In the event I can't reach him, maybe you could give me your cell number (or PM me if you'd prefer). My cell is 404-735-0158.

Thanks Jim! I'll put your number in my phone. Your boats a beauty, great ride last year. Hope to ride in Tim's, yours, and as many others as possible.

Toertel: Thanks, just got your text but then my phone just died. (My ancient flip-phone is about as high-tech as my boat). I'll be coming from Peachtree City and have no idea where Burtons Mill Park is; but to make it simple, if the action is to be centered around Bald Ridge Marina, I'll just show up there. (I'll be the guy at the end of the dock with his thumb out). I think Tim & Jim have got me covered, but I'll let you know if I need a ride, thanks!

Big thanks to Mike and Gail for the use of the pontoon, the grill and the great food!
Had a great day. Counted eight Correct Crafts, a Malibu, an Elite Craft and the pontoon. And nineteen people on and off during the day.
Couple folks ran the slalom course, Tim and Gail, pulled by Bob and his Ski Nautique 200.
Pulled the flotilla around out of the ski cove to a nice beach area where we grilled and enjoyed a beautiful Georgia afternoon with CCFans. Ended the afternoon over at Sunset Cove at Lake Lanier Islands.
Morfoot and 74Wind will have to post some pictures. I did not take one picture!

We had a great day with 76c water temp and tons of fun.
The little one was wiped after the day out on the water.
Thanks all, great outing and fantastic group!
Here some pics
This one made me laugh real hard (the folks are never to be seen on any of the ramps, but now had the time to put up a sign...)

Thank you Marty!

What a great day mid to upper 80s not a cloud in the sky water around 77 and glass conditions.
We started the day in the Bald Ridge ski cove. We met up with a group of skiers that set up a course there . Two Malibu Responses ,one MC Pro star and a Nautique 200. I think they were happy to see their ski cove invaded by seasoned CC owners instead of tubers and wakeboarders. My wife immediately snagged a ride on one of the Bu's three hours later she was still at it every time I looked up she was on a different boat. Talk about hitting it big how often can you ski the top three ski boats in the world one after the other. She learned more in those three hours than the last 20 years plus we made some new friends . As the day went on we moved out to a sandy beach for some food and chilling time . We ended the day around 7 at Sunset cove . The day couldn't have been better but I guess that's what happens when great friends great boats and great weather get together. Here are a few pics I have I'm sure more will follow.

I have to agree the park rangers are never around but now they have time to put up notices and block off war memorials ? Burton Mill Park was closed for the season two weeks ago before the shut down. The boat ramp is open all year long. Its funny to see that not much changes for the average guy when the feds stop working . I guess they will keep reminding us until we take notice?

Great weekend on Lanier gang as the weather was perfect, the boats were awesome and again the CCFans were even better. It's always great to hang with the local guys and we even added a non CC guy to the fold with his Elite Craft.. Pretty neat boat all in all and Peter would fit in well with the rest of us as he is about as anal as the rest of us when it comes to his ski boat. I've know his wife since we were 5 and this past weekend was the first time I ever met him.

The weekend was full of surprises as Mike previously mentioning us hooking up with guys who put in the slalom course. They were glad to see fellow skiers on the lake and said they had no issues with us using the course(well except Mike in his 210) and said they would be glad to pull us using their boat. Needless to say I wasn't gonna pass an opportunity to run it behind a SN 200. Hadn't run a course in 20 years and found out that I probably shouldn't have. MAN, DO I NEED WORK!

Had a great time even though I almost got swamped by a freaking Yacht who never bothered to slow down after "Miss Scarlett" lost her water pump and got hot REAL fast. An attach bolt sheared off and the pivot bolt was loose but I managed to get the belt back on, pivot bolt tight, and jammed a pry bar in the slott to keep tension on the belt, to get the engine going before the tidal wave hit. Mike took one over the stern of the ToonTique and Gail off the bow from the clown who only cared about himself...... Of course with Lanier fashion we ended up at Sunset Cove where there is always something interesting going on...(see enclosed pic)

If the weather gets warm again before Nov, I'm up for another day as always!

Mike and Gails' official CCFan "TOONTIQUE"!

Cell phone pic of the slalom course we were mooring by!

The scenery is ALWAYS good at Sunset Cove!

That might be doable Reid as I don't have plans at the moment. I guess it may depends on whether 'Hotel Hunter' is still open? Mike guess maybe I shoulda left 'Miss Scarlett' up there

Welcome to CCFan Reid. It's about time you signed up!

Well , after a long day at the GA Nat'l Fair yesterday with the girls I decided to burn a day of Vaca and drag 'Miss Scarlett' back up there this morning. 80'F sunny days for the next two days. "How could I be expected to go to school on a day like this"---- Ferris Bueller

See ya soon!

Been buried this week. My company, Mohawk Industries, dissolved a territory here in Atlanta. Got rid of a rep. Good for me...picked up a lot of extra business and accounts!
Crazy week this week.

Man, shouldn't have said that...still stuck at work (internal audit next week)
Will try to be at the lake around noon tomorrow.
Where will we all meet up?
Same place as last week (I might try to wakeskate the slalom course ) and that would give Jim a 2nd chance for a grand entrance

Sebastin, knew that I would not make it today, but tomorrow is another story!
Will most likely put in at Bald Ridge Marina. We can meet at the same place.
Going to have to throttle back on the grand entrance.....don't want to be banished from the slalom cove

Due to the time of the year, at one of the local watering holes, but w/o our boats?

Yep...it's coming.. Still need a 'Miss Scarlett' pic taken with the ladies at the "The Tilted Kilt"

Several good watering holes on the Northside of town for all to congregate. Doesn't have to be a weekend day either as far as I'm concerned. Easy drive to where ever after work as I'm at Hartsfield anyway.

Jeff, sorry, will not make it out this weekend.
The boating memories with Dad topic on the forum inspired me to fly my dad in for the weekend, for some family time with me and his grandson (who is all exited)
Anyway, how about 11/14 as a date? Where?

Sounds like a great plan Jeff but I too will have to pass. I'll be in Warner Robins for a Football game. Sydney needs her dad there to escort her on the field as it's Sr. Day.

Sebastian....the 14th sounds good to me.

Heck out of the country again the week of the 10th and several days during the following week. I plan on getting out this weekend though as my son says he wants to ride boat and not cable at Terminus. We were out last Saturday and even got my wife in a wetsuit to ski. Hunter has been kind enough to loan me a bilge heater to prolong our season on Lanier. I will try and make it to end of December before pulling all the plugs....

Guess we should move this to another date as the original instigator can't make it as well as several other ATL fans. I'm game for anything mid week as it may work better than a Fri or Sat night.
