I have a 2000 Sport with the 351W 260 hp engine, breaker-less ignition with the prestolite screw down cap. At running temp the coil primary measures 2.1 and secondary measures 12.09. Somewhere I got specs that say the coil should be between 1.4-1.54 primary and 7600-8800 secondary. Boat has missed under load, but changed cap, rotor and new wires, re-gapped plugs to .35 and seems to run fine now. Just wondering if the coil might still be a weak link. Anybody know if those specs I got are correct, and if my real-life readings are out of whack enough to justify getting a new coil?

Thanks
