My 1976 Southwind 20 with Ford 351 surges at a slow cruise just above idle. Maybe 1500-1800 RPM. Rebuilt the carb twice and no change. Advance weights and all are smooth and free in the distributor. New points, plugs etc. Messed around with everything I know to do. No improvement. I am thinking about buying a re-man. carb since this one is so old and has seen very limited use over the years. Total time on this boat is only 490 hrs. Any suggestions, thoughts? Any recommended reman. carb suppliers? Thanks

Sounds like it might be a vacuum leak... have you tested for that?
