We just received a 58 Star Flight in our shop to complete a project started by its previous owner. The construction pictures that I have seen and "before" pictures indicate that the previous owner has saved what I am understanding to be a fairly rare piece of history. Kudos to him! I look forward to learning more from anyone who has knowledge and personal experience of these "finned" creatures. I will be posting lots of photos as we want to document this boat for others to enjoy as well.

Looking forward to the pictures. We have a 1957 Star Flight and it is currently awaiting reconstruction. What engine is in yours? Check out our thread on it.

Are the exhaust manifolds OK? Gray has/had a problem with them burning through at the aft end.

Welcome. Yes, we need pictures!

Grand Poobah, nice to meet you.Great insight, yes they are in incredibly good condition. We do a lot of pre-1966 Lyman Boats which predominately used Gray engines. This Gray has had the heads replaced so it made skeptical of the original ex. manifolds. I may need help in figuring out how to load pictures to this site, not my forte! Thanks, Phil
